Portal FAQ

  1. Open a browser and go to http://laverne.edu
  2. Click on MyLaverne at the top center of your screen.
  3. Click LaVerne Portal at the top of the left column.

Direct link: https://myportal.laverne.edu

LaVerne Portal for students who have a La Verne Gmail account. MyLaVerne Directly is for students that do not have a LaVerne Gmail account.

  • If you are a new user with a La Verne Gmail account please click here to receive this information by Personal email (ex. Hotmail, yahoo). For further instructions click here.

  • If you are a current user please use your La Verne email.

For best user experience it is recommended to complete the following instructions on a desktop.

Current Users: On the La Verne Portal login page is the link 'Forgot Password' you will find detailed instructions located on the left menu. Click here to begin.

A new user is someone who has never logged into or accessed the LaVerne Portal. There are rare cases where someone is a current student and has never logged into the LaVerne Portal. If so, please click here to get access.

A current user is someone who has successfully accessed the LaVerne Portal. This does not mean you have to be a current student i.e. alumnus can still continue accessing the LaVerne Portal.

  1. To set up a personal Email click here
  2. User ID = your Student ID Number
  3. PIN = if this is your first time logging in your PIN is your birthdate in MMDDYY, format.
  4. NOTE: if you have logged in before and do not remember your PIN, you may reset it by providing the correct answer to your security question, otherwise contact your Academic Adviser for assistance.
  5. Next click the link "Email Information"
  6. Next click the link "Update your E-mail address(es)".
  7. Next select ‘Personal Email Address' in the drop down menu and click ‘Submit'
  8. Enter your Personal E-mail address and click ‘Submit'
  9. Your Personal E-mail should now be updated in the school's system.

Portal First Time Users FAQ

  • Go to the La Verne Portal https://myportal.laverne.edu/ log in page.
  • Click the ‘First time user' link. Enter your Student ID, Last Name, and Role (student).
  • Once you have entered this information you will receive a success message and an email sent to your personal email in our school's system. You will receive your log in username and temporary password in the email.
  • Click this link here enter your username and temporary one time use password.
  • The next step will be to reset your password. Make sure you follow the password guidelines in order to correctly set your password click OK.
  • You will now be able to gain access to the La Verne Portal.

Portal Faculty/Staff Users FAQ

  • There is access to sensitive information not available on the Universities website.
  • Access to the HR Portal which contains benefit information, policies, important forms and more.
  • There are communities you can create for your students or fellow faculty members and have a private discussion group, share documents and more.
  • As a faculty member, you can also check your class roster, class schedule, input grades, check library account and more.
  • Your employee email account is available with access to the Universities Address book with contact information for faculty/staff .
  • Access to Blackboard allows you to develop and manage online or web assisted classes.
  • There is access to sensitive information not available on the Universities website.
  • Access to the HR Portal which contains benefit information, policies, important forms and more.
  • As a staff member, you can also check the departmental budget, go to Banner INB, search contact information for a faculty or staff, create or track a service desk work order and more.
  • Your employee email account is available with access to the Universities Address book with contact information for faculty/staff.
  • There are communities you can create for your Departments. You can post important departmental information, discussion group, share documents and more.

Your log in credentials into your workstation and your employee email password.

 

Blackboard FAQ

How to Access Blackboard

  1. Web Address/URL: http://bb.laverne.edu
  2. Username: The username is the first portion of the La Verne email account. So if the email is jane.smith@laverne.edu, then the username is jane.smith.
  3. Password: Use the forgot your password tool on the login page to reset/create a password.

Student Email FAQ

  1. Log into your La Verne Portal account
  2. Locate the left panel QuickLaunch
  3. Under LAUNCHPAD click La Verne Email

Log into your La Verne Portal account. When you reach the Home page click ‘My Account' located on the top right corner. On the left side Menu Bar click ‘Reset Password'. This will reset your La Verne Portal and Gmail password .
